Biography

Farmington- Mabel (Labbie) Markie, 91, of Farmington, passed away on Monday March 15, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of the late Alcide Markie.
Born in Keegan, ME, on May 31, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Henrietta (Saucier) Labbie.
Mabel was a parishioner of St. Matthew Church in Forestville.
She is survived by her six children Mona Bachand of Farmington, Carol Zimmer of Southington, Diana Markie of Farmington, Ted Markie and his wife Patricia of Avon, Eugene Markie and his wife Marge of Middletown and Paul Markie and his fiancée Pam of Glastonbury.
Mabel is also survived by a brother Joseph Labbie of VT, three sisters Jeanette Houle and Juliette Lavoie both of Bristol and Pauline Caron of Plainville, 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great great grandson along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Connie Daoust and a grandson Eric Zimmer.
The visitation will be held on Friday March 19 from 11am until noon at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St in Southington. Graveside services and internment will follow St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol.
