Southington- Ann R. (Gioia) Michaud, 96, died peacefullyFebruary 25, 2010 at the Summit Healthcare Facility of Plantsville. She was the wife of the late Edward Michaud.
She was born on August 5, 1913 in Southington daughter of the late Raphael and Petronilla(Angelillo) Gioia. Throughout Ann’s life, she enjoyed spending weekends with her sister, Margaret, at her RI cottage. Although she had no grandchildren, she was very involved in her grand-nieces’ and grand-nephews’ lives. She worked for Cuno Incorporated for many years and was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church.
She is survived by her brother William Gioia of Hawaii; two nephews, Darryl Fasulo and his wife Cindy of Southington, and Royal “Buster” Strong Jr. of Florida, two nieces, Rosemary Trykowski of Southington and Cheryl Cunningham of North Carolina; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Rose Ricci, Margaret Fasulo, and Florence Strong; and one brother David Gioia.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday March 2 at 10 AM at St. Thomas Church 99 Bristol St. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery and there are no calling hours. Donations may be made in her memory to The St. Thomas Ladies Guild 99 Bristol St. Southington,CT. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. is handling arrangements.
