Biography

Southington- Thomas Joseph Sullivan, Sr. 80, of Darling St. died Thursday, January 14, 2010 after a brief illness at Hospital of Central CT, Bradley Campus. He was the husband of the late Theresa Claire (St. Marie) Sullivan. He was also predeceased by his longtime companion Betty LaRoche.
Mr. Sullivan was born on March 3, 1929 in Holyoke, MA, the son of the late James F. and Mary Ellen (McSweeney) Sullivan. He was a graduate of Holyoke High School and was the store manager of Everybody’s Market for many years. He was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling to Florida, Las Vegas and playing poker. His greatest joy was the time spent with his grandchildren.
He leaves, sons: Thomas Sullivan and wife Kathryn of Wolcott, Michael Sullivan and wife Doreen of Clearwater, FL, daughters; Patricia Sullivan of Southington and Laurie Reilly and husband Jeffrey of Waterbury. He also leaves his stepchildren; Debra LaRoche of Southington, Sharon LaRoche of Wallingford and Paul LaRoche of Southington, his grandchildren, Sean and Terrence Sullivan of Wolcott and Alyssa and Brendan Rocap of Southington, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by siblings Elinor O’Connell, James Sullivan, Agnes Brooksbank and Mary Sullivan.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, Jan 18, at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
